Democracy Under Siege: Fighting Trump's Authoritarian Drift
American democracy has never been under such pressure. Never has a President come down so hard and fast on all forms of opposition: political rivals, lawyers, universities, media, and young people dreaming of a different world. The assassination of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk has only strengthened Donald Trump's resolve. In today's America, many keep silent while a few dare to speak out and defend their values and democracy. We've followed the daily lives of activists from the 5051 movement, as well as Mohsen Mahdawi, the anti-Trump Palestinian student from Columbia University, ABC fired anchor Terry Moran and Joseph Stiglitz, Nobel Prize-winning economist. All of them refuse to capitulate in the face of Donald Trump's authoritarian drift.
