Rocks Of Ages: Iceland's Geologic Carbon Capture
11'
Will Iceland become Europe's CO2 dustbin? Iceland's basaltic rocks are particularly well suited to burying the CO2 released by biogas plants all over Europe. Switzerland has just exported its first containers of CO2 to Iceland by road and sea. This CO2 will be mineralized in Icelandic soil in a process that mimics nature. However, not all Icelanders see this CO2 import in a positive light.
