When Mireille Keïta left Bamako and her native Mali to follow her husband to Bealmes, Switzerland, little did she know what she was about to find out. In order to reconnect with her African roots but also to pass them on in schools and to all generations, Mireille created an association and a festival: Yelen. Each year, Yelen allows visitors to travel through the 5 senses and discover the diversity of African cultures. Craft workshops, shows, animations and concerts follow one another during several days to bring a taste of Africa, diversity and color to her adopted country. Soon it was her turn to travel to Mali for the inauguration of the new dispensary financed the association Solidarité Afrique Farafina had financed.
